Recruitment Partner: Matt Haywood - matt.haywood@boots.co.uk Closing date: 25 May 2025 Contract type: 8 month secondment An exciting customer focused role at the heart of the Commercial and Technical Services function which brings variety and visibility to many elements of Boots UK. Fast paced and extremely passionate, our Commercial and Technical Services team drive our success and keep our customers coming back for more, through inspiring and innovative communications making our customers feel good and inspiring our colleagues. The Instore Experience Design team is responsible for delivering in-store solutions for new customer experience propositions by store format. This can include projects such as managing the design intent for a new store, fixtures and fittings through to on-shelf (merchandising) design solutions. This role involves understanding customer propositions and creating in-store briefs for new creative solutions, including confirmation of all customer touch points in store, role & purpose of on shelf kit and POS. Your Responsibilities: Delivering creative solutions for 3D elements within our stores, display aids, furniture and environment, identifying role and purpose of communication touch points. This involves creating a brief into a concept of design intent which meets business and customer objectives Manage critical paths and costs for projects and link into the wider project team to report back on status and issues Work with external design agencies to create a design intent Support the approval of 3rd party brand designs across the store, including our premium brands Being the guardian of the creative intent through the design development, manufacture and delivery process of display aids, working closely with our Properties teams Own and develop our Retail Principles with both internal and external teams, ensuring any new initiatives are in line with latest thinking and are appropriate for Boots. Development of new customer merchandising principles which requires collaborative working with our merchandising teams to deliver An understanding of the customer, market changes and latest shopping habits and behaviours with a passion for retail Day-to-day tasks including management of music licenses and raising POs A bit about you: Cross functional working and relationship building, holding others to account and able to deal with challenging conversations and escalating where expectations are not met Experience in design processes, managing a concept from creative into reality Ability to collaborate with and lead external agencies and brands, with experience in project management, managing critical paths and costs in line with project plans while managing stakeholders in line with expectations Awareness of customer, market changes and industry best practice, and a passion for retail design The ability to express ideas through both written and oral communication to either individuals or groups Able to work at pace to deliver business plans right first time in line with critical dates and within budget Understand our customers’ needs ensuring we can continue to develop and innovate the customer experience for the future A proactive, creative thinker who focusses on future thinking whilst keeping processes simple Our benefits Boots Retirement Savings Plan Discretionary annual bonus Generous employee discounts Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a child Flexible benefits scheme including option to buy additional holiday, discounted gym membership, life assurance, activity passes and much more.
