Role Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, this position is responsible for the overall maintenance of plant equipment and facilities ensuring the smooth running of the plant and limit impact on customer demand. The Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance tasks to equipment.
Key Responsibilities
The role entails but is not limited to:-
1. To ensure health, safety and environmental procedures are followed during maintenance activities.
2. Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant and adhere to all health and safety environmental requirements.
3. To ensure planned maintenance is carried out in-line with the maintenance plan/schedule and feedback is given when improvements are recognised.
4. To ensure equipment availability is in line with departmental targets.
5. To ensure all activities are accurately captured in the CMMS.
6. To engage in root cause analysis of repeat / major breakdowns and provide reports with suggested improvements.
7. To engineer out previous issues following a continuous improvement mind-set & methodology.
8. To support the internal customers with technical issues Inc. non-breakdown.
9. Attend training when required and adhere to CCUK and Magna standards.
10. To apply 5S methodology in work area and wider factory.
11. To align to departmental and company goals.
To support management with ad-hoc projects as and when required.
Key Qualifications/Requirements

12. Time served apprentice in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
13. Minimum C & G craft qualification / NVQ level 3 qualification in related discipline or equivalent.
14. Willingness to multi-skill.
15. Experience in fault finding from electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic schematics.
16. Proficient in Microsoft (especially Word, Excel, Power Point).
17. To be able to communicate technical issues to non-technical staff.
18. 5S experience.
19. Qualification in both electrical & mechanical discipline.
20. Educated to HNC/HND in related discipline.
21. Health and safety accreditation.
22. Experience of tier 1 automotive supply.
23. Experience with die casting machines, furnaces, hydraulic presses, conveyors, assembly cells, ABB robots, Siemens PLCs, CNCs, etc.
24. Knowledge of CMMS systems (Agility).
