The Role
We are looking for a motivated and personable Accountant who can manage a varied portfolio of clients and work closely with business owners on their day‑to‑day accounting and tax matters. The ideal candidate will be fully qualified (ACA / ACCA), however we are also open to speaking with candidates who are part‑qualified and have strong practical experience within an accountancy practice environment. Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of year‑end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
* Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax returns
* Preparation of Self Assessment tax returns
* Preparation and review of VAT returns
* Supporting clients with bookkeeping and cloud accounting queries
* Working with Xero and other cloud accounting software
* Liaising directly with clients and providing day‑to‑day support
* Assisting with management accounts and ad hoc advisory work where required
Requirements
* Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
* Experience preparing accounts and tax returns
* Good working knowledge of VAT
* Strong knowledge and experience using Xero
* Good communication and client relationship skills
* Organised with strong attention to detail
Desirable
* ACA / ACCA qualified or part‑qualified
* Experience with additional cloud software platforms
* Experience managing client relationships independently
