NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (ANNP) to join our Neonatal Service within Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Our neonatal service operates across three prestigious units: Princess Royal Maternity, Royal Alexandra Hospital, and the Royal Hospital for Children. The service has a total capacity of 94 cots, including 23 for intensive care, 23 for high dependency, and 48 for special care.
As a Senior ANNP, you will be instrumental in providing expert clinical care for newborns, working in close partnership with families, carers, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Utilising your advanced skills and knowledge, you will make autonomous, highly complex decisions regarding the diagnosis and treatment of newborns.
This role is positioned within the Tier 2 staff rota.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, delivering advanced clinical neonatal nursing and medical practice. Responsibilities include education, conducting audits, supporting quality improvement projects, and providing clinical leadership. You will offer values-based leadership to foster the ongoing development and progression of advanced nursing practice, while promoting a positive learning culture that encourages continuous development and enhancement of patient care.
As a Senior ANNP, you will advocate for and contribute to the implementation of evidence-based approaches in all aspects of service delivery, aiming to facilitate continuous quality improvement at local, regional, and national levels. You will work within established protocols and guidelines to provide collaborative and independent judgement in assessing, investigating, diagnosing, planning, implementing, managing, and evaluating clinical nursing and medical care for babies.
If you are ready to make a significant impact on neonatal care and be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, we invite you to apply for this rewarding role.
