Role Profile: Senior People Advisor Job Title: Senior People Advisor Based: Fern House, Cardiff (Hybrid working based on performance) Reports to: People Business Partner Role Purpose We are looking for a proactive and adaptable People Advisor to provide expert support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle. This role is pivotal in coaching and guiding managers to get the best from their teams, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, and helping to create a positive, engaging, and high-performing workplace culture. Key Responsibilities Partner with managers to provide expert advice on absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment law. Act as a trusted coach and mentor to line managers, building their confidence and capability in managing their teams effectively. Lead and manage employee relations casework, providing sound recommendations and solutions. Support the delivery of the performance management process, identifying and facilitating interventions to drive employee development and business performance. Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and champion a culture of inclusion, wellbeing, and recognition. Analyse People data and KPIs to provide insights and recommendations that support continuous improvement. Oversee compliance processes, including DBS checks and Right to Work monitoring, ensuring all requirements are met in line with company policy and regulations. Stay up to date with changes in employment legislation and best practice, embedding improvements into People policies and processes. Support People projects and strategic initiatives, taking ownership of key deliverables. Carry out associated administration with accuracy and attention to detail. Skills & Experience Required CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) with at least 2 years experience in an HR/People Advisor role. Strong, up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation. Proven track record of supporting and coaching managers across a range of employee relations and performance issues. Experience working in a fast-paced HR environment, with the ability to adapt and prioritise effectively. Demonstrated success in managing complex casework and driving positive outcomes. Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, HR databases). A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and development.
