Working closely with the Town Clerk, as part of a small and developing team at Fleetwood Town Council, you will play a key role in supporting the provision of local services and promotion of events. This role provides a genuine opportunity to be involved in making positive changes for the town, both in supporting existing events and through the development of new activities.
Your responsibilities will be varied, including Deputising for Town Clerk as and when required, being Secretary to Fleetwood in Bloom, as well as having responsibility for Fleetwood’s much-loved allotments. Working with colleagues, your role will involve promoting Fleetwood, via our social media channels and website, to both residents and visitors. You will also undertake a variety of administrative tasks, to support the effective running of the Council, providing a responsive and professional service at all times to our internal and external customers and stakeholders.
Whilst primarily office based on Poulton Road in Fleetwood, the postholder will attend meetings, site visits and events across the local area. Working in a small team does require flexibility and whilst your standard hours will be worked during office opening times, you will also need to be available on occasion to work evenings and weekends, to support the activities of the Town Council.
Working hours are 30 per week, which will normally be 6 hours per day Monday-Friday during office opening hours. There is some flexibility in working hours, to support those occasions when evening and weekend work is required.
As well as working as part of a small, friendly team, the successful candidates will have 33 days paid holiday per year (pro-rata) inclusive of Bank Holidays, which increases to 36 days (pro-rata) after 5 years continuous service. Subject to qualifying conditions, you will also be automatically enrolled in the NEST pension scheme.
