Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Coordinator to join our team in Sheffield on a full-time permanent basis.
Salary: £26,580 per annum, plus £2,000 shift allowance.
Working hours: 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm.
The purpose of a Transport Coordinator is to effectively plan driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery/collection times, whilst optimising resources and adhering to WTD and driver’s hours legislation.
Key Duties of a Transport Coordinator:
* Creating and updating daily run summaries to meet delivery and collection deadlines.
* Ensuring service levels are achieved and maintained, in collaboration with other departments.
* Using the driver rota to plan runs according to shift patterns and available hours, considering holidays and sickness.
* Ensuring legal compliance regarding defects, services, MOTs, etc.
* Maintaining clear communication with drivers; providing accurate start times, load info, directions, additional shifts, etc.
* Ensuring adherence to all statutory, legal, health, and safety requirements, including safe systems of work policies.
* Assisting with disciplinary hearings, return-to-work meetings, substance misuse procedures, etc., to maintain standards and ensure appropriate employee performance.
Qualifications
* Proven knowledge and experience of tachograph and driving rules and regulations.
* Transport experience within an FMCG environment is desirable.
* Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work accurately under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Previous management or supervisory experience.
* Excellent communication skills for delivering accurate information.
* Good IT skills, including MS Office, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours regulations.
* CPC National qualification is desirable but not essential.
