Introduction
The Lead Project Manager(s) for the BBC’s Generative AI Programme will play a pivotal role in delivering the BBC’s ambitions for Generative AI. Responsibilities include leading projects to leverage Generative AI for value creation, staff engagement, AI literacy, external engagement, and managing the innovation pipeline. The role requires strong project management, stakeholder skills, and the ability to work in a fast-evolving environment.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may be divided among multiple roles, but all require strong planning, delivery, prioritisation, and communication skills. Additional activities may be added over time.
* Staff engagement: Manage the development and delivery of initiatives to increase awareness and responsible use of Generative AI at the BBC.
* AI Literacy: Oversee the BBC’s AI literacy activities, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
* Partner support: Work with partnership, commercial, and policy teams to support activities that benefit the creative economy.
* Market monitoring: Track industry trends, policies, and competition to keep the BBC well-positioned.
* Innovation: Collaborate with the Head of Generative AI Hub to prioritise impactful projects and manage their progression from idea to evaluation.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have:
* Proven project management experience in complex organizations, preferably in media, technology, or innovation sectors.
* Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and budget.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience in transformation and applying new technologies for business impact.
* Knowledge of Generative AI, media technologies, and regulatory issues is desirable.
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
