We are working with a specialist SEN school in St Albans supporting pupils with autism and complex needs, and are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join on a long-term basis.
This is not a typical classroom role. The setting requires someone calm, patient and consistent, who understands how to support pupils with additional needs and can be part of a structured, supportive environment.
You will be supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping with communication, behaviour and day-to-day classroom routines. In some cases, personal care and physical support may be required.
The school offers a well-resourced environment, including access to aquatic therapy, hydrotherapy and equine (horse) therapy, supporting students beyond the classroom.
What stands out about this setting is the staff culture. Teams are described as supportive, collaborative and genuinely focused on student progress, with many staff highlighting how their confidence and development has grown within the school.
