Description Make a life changing decision – Join Cornwall Council as a Vision Rehabilitation Specialist The Service & Team Adult Social Care in Cornwall is transforming and we’re looking for passionate professionals to help shape a best-in-class model that puts people first. The Independent and Wellbeing Service, based in West Cornwall, is seeking a dedicated Vision Rehabilitation Specialist to support adults with sight loss. As part of our wider integrated therapy team, you’ll work alongside Occupational Therapists, Social Care Practitioners and other professionals who collaborate to deliver holistic, person-centred support. The Role Your role is to make sure people with sight loss, and their families, get the right help at the right time. You’ll carry out strengths-based assessments, offer tailored advice, and teach daily living and mobility skills that enable people to stay safe, confident and independent. You will work with health partners, primary care networks and community organisations as part of Cornwall’s expanding community intervention offer. You’ll also help shape new pathways and approaches for people with visual impairment, with a strong focus on early intervention and preventative support. This is a meaningful and rewarding role where your expertise will have a direct, positive impact on people’s lives. Working Pattern We have one full time position (37 hours), Monday–Friday, 08:45–17:15. Flexible working patterns can be discussed to support work–life balance. What You’ll Need to Succeed You must hold a qualification recognised by the Rehabilitation Workers Professional Network (RWPN) and be registered — or willing to register — before starting. We’re looking for someone who: Has experience in vision rehabilitation Values person centred, strengths-based practice Puts people’s wishes at the heart of decisions Works well with others and shares knowledge Is committed to ongoing learning and high quality practice This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
