They are an innovative and fast-growing distributor of specialty products for life science research. They work with reagents, instrumentation and biospecimens used by researchers in industrial and academic labs throughout the UK.The company are looking for someone enthusiastic and energetic who has the drive to work as part of a team and willing to learn new sales skills. They are looking for someone confident who is comfortable making sales calls (after training of course!) who will use their own communication style and own initiative to drive sales forward by creating opportunities for the field sales team. The candidate will be mentored by senior members of the sales team to help develop their skillset.This role would suit someone with industrial lab or scientific sales experience who is looking for a challenging and rewarding career that is still within the science industry.Job Responsibilities:One of the key roles of the Technical Sales Advisor is to interact with research customers, requiring the individual to be comfortable on the phone, making outbound calls and interacting via email and video calls too.Responsible for business in your designated region (South and West region)Technical sales advisors are expected to contribute to the business growth in the chosen region by assisting the Field Sales Advisors, growing the regional business by 10% per annumAssisting the sales team using sales techniques, maintaining existing business relationships as well as helping to drive new salesCustomer contact will be mainly via phone and emailAssisting management of opportunity pipelines across the full scientific product range including reagents, diagnostic products etc.Dealing with inbound sales enquiries helping them be converted new businessServe as a direct link between the field sales team and the other office-based teamsAssisting remotely with instrumentation demonstrations and installationsUsing the CRM to log sales activitiesJob Requirements:A 2:1 or above in a Life Science degree including Biology, Bioscience, Biochemistry etc.Experience within a similar Scientific Sales role is extremely beneficialPractical laboratory experience from university or in industry is desirable but not essential A keen interest in a sales support roleAbility to make new business calls and engage with clientsExcellent communication skills and a high level of self-motivation
