SENKO is looking for a driven and team-oriented individual to join our collaborative team focused on product development for a growing fiber optic market. The main purpose of this role is to support the Product Success Department with test-related activities to develop new fiber optic connectivity and passive technology solutions. The Application Technician must be able to follow verbal technical directions from the Product Success team and advance projects accordingly. The applicant will analyze information and communicate findings internally and externally as needed. SENKO supports and trains individuals interested in starting a new career path in this field.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
* Build fiber optic assemblies.
* Operate fiber optic test equipment to validate R&D designs, experiments, and validations.
* Handle fiber processing tasks including fiber stripping, ribbonization, cleaving, crimping, splicing, polishing, testing, and connector inspection.
* Assist with Design of Experiments and execute daily experimental duties.
* Support start-up, maintenance, and commissioning of laboratory equipment.
* Follow standard test procedures and practices.
* Collect, track, and analyze data for reporting purposes.
* Write, validate, and edit Engineering Termination Procedures (ETP), Engineering Product Specifications (EPS), and Engineering Polishing Procedures (EPP).
* Understand manufacturing documentation, including piece part and assembly drawings.
Requirements
We seek a motivated, results-driven individual with the following qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in a related Science or Engineering discipline preferred.
* 2+ years of hands-on experience in optical fiber cable assembly preferred.
* Knowledge of fiber optics testing procedures and industry standards preferred.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; Spanish language skills are a plus.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment with engineering and product management.
* Willingness to travel at least 25%.
