UK National Ltd are a family owned and operated business who provide national coverage ofHard FM services, including mechanical, electrical, and building fabric maintenance. With operations spanning from the Scottish Borders to the South Coast, we deliver high-quality asset management and compliance-driven solutions across a broad range of sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, and government.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Operations Managerto oversee service delivery, manage field teams, and ensure operational excellence across our national portfolio.

Role Overview:

The Operations Manager will lead the strategic and day-to-day operations of our Hard FM services, ensuring contractual compliance, high performance, and excellent client satisfaction. This role involves managing regional teams, subcontractors, engineers, and liaising with key stakeholders to deliver seamless service across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

·Oversee the national delivery of Hard FM services across client sites

·Lead and manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams and subcontractors

·Ensure full compliance with statutory, health & safety, and contract obligations

·Monitor and report on KPIs, SLAs, and financial performance of contracts

·Drive operational improvements, resource planning, and cost efficiency

·Support mobilisation of new contracts and transition of services

·Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring service excellence and retention

·Oversee reactive maintenance, PPM scheduling, and asset lifecycle planning

·Collaborate with the commercial and compliance teams on audits, budgets, and tender support.

Requirements:

·Proven experience in a operational role within the FM or Hard Services sector

·Strong technical understanding of M&E and building fabric maintenance

·Knowledge of UK compliance standards (e.g., SFG20, HVCA, H&S regulations)

·Experience managing remote teams and multi-site service delivery

·Financial acumen – understanding of contract P&L, budgeting, and cost control

·Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills

·Full UK driving licence – travel required across national sites with overnight stays as required.

·Relevant qualifications in Engineering, FM, or related field (e.g., IOSH/NEBOSH, HNC/HND in Building Services or Trade based qualifications etc.)
