The pay scale for this post is £36,735 - £41,078. Consideration will be given to place the successful candidate on higher point of the advertised salary scale, depending on relevant experience and transferable skills.
Days and Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00

We are looking for a motivated Roads Officer to support the design, development and delivery of road improvement and maintenance projects across East Lothian. You will prepare CAD drawings, assist with road design, and help operate our Asset Management System to support effective management of the road network.
The role includes assisting in the preparation of NEC compliant contract documentation, assessing and prioritising works, and supervising on site activities carried out by internal teams and external contractors.
You should have strong communication skills, be confident using digital technology, and able to work well within a multidisciplinary technical team while engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and the public.
Applicants should be educated to HNC/SVQ Level 2 in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or be able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience. The role is primarily office based, with travel required to sites across East Lothian. Flexibility to meet service demands is essential.

All home/hybrid workers must live in the UK. Where an application for home-working is supported, it will be subject to a satisfactory trial period. Employees with a hybrid working arrangement in place will be office based and able to work from home, with permission, on an ad hoc basis.
