Description of Role As Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for: Build & Lead a High-Performing Team – Recruit, develop, and manage a team of project managers, engineers, and security professionals to deliver physical security projects at scale. Oversee Project Delivery – Ensure the successful planning and execution of physical security infrastructure, systems, and technology projects across various client sites. Client Relationship Management – Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring alignment with their security needs and maintaining high levels of satisfaction. P&L and Budget Ownership – Take full accountability for the operational profit & loss (P&L) of the Physical Security Portfolio across the UK and Europe, ensuring cost control and financial optimization. Compliance & Risk Management – Ensure all projects adhere to regulatory, safety, and security standards, mitigating potential risks. Operational Strategy & Process Improvement – Develop and implement best practices, processes, and operational efficiencies to enhance project delivery and scalability. Adhering to compliance requirements for Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality, Information Security and Data Protection relevant to your job, function and location. For development purposes the following knowledge, skills and experience are required. Essential Skills & Competencies Project & Operations Management Proven experience managing large-scale physical security projects across multiple sites. Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or Prince2). Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, budget control, and on-time delivery. Technical Knowledge of Physical Security Systems In-depth understanding of physical security infrastructure, including: Access control systems (e.g., Lenel, C•CURE, Genetec). CCTV & surveillance systems (e.g., Axis, Avigilon, Milestone). Intrusion detection systems and perimeter security. Security hardware (e.g., barriers, gates, biometric readers). Knowledge of cybersecurity considerations related to physical security systems. Leadership & Team Management Experience in building, leading, and managing project teams. Strong people management skills, including performance management, training, and mentoring. Ability to foster a high-performance culture and drive team motivation. Client & Stakeholder Management Experience in client-facing roles, managing relationships with enterprise clients and stakeholders. Ability to translate client requirements into actionable project plans. Strong negotiation skills for managing vendors, contractors, and suppliers. Financial & P&L Management Experience managing profit & loss (P&L) for security projects or service portfolios. Budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control expertise. Ability to optimize operational costs while maintaining service quality. Regulatory & Compliance Expertise Knowledge of security industry regulations, standards, and best practices, including: ISO 27001 (Information Security) GDPR (for data privacy in surveillance) CPNI (Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure) guidelines Local and international security regulations Ability to ensure compliance with safety, security, and legal requirements. Problem-Solving & Crisis Management Strong analytical and decision-making skills to handle emergency situations, security threats, and operational disruptions. Ability to develop contingency plans and implement security risk mitigation strategies. Communication & Reporting Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and external reporting. Ability to present project updates, financial reports, and risk assessments to senior leadership. Preferred Experience 10 years of experience in physical security, project management, or operations management. Prior experience in data centres, critical infrastructure, corporate security, or high-security environments. Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or CPP (Certified Protection Professional) are highly desirable. Familiarity with smart buildings, IoT security solutions, and emerging security technologies.
