We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Technician to join our dedicated Design & Technology (D&T) team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students.
About The Role
As a Technician in our D&T Department, you will provide vital practical and technical support to both staff and students. You will help ensure that all lessons are fully resourced and ready, assist with classroom setups, and help maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons
* Assist in setting up and clearing classrooms
* Maintain tools, equipment, and machinery in good working order
* Support teachers during practical sessions where required
* Uphold health and safety standards at all times
* Provide basic administrative support
* Supervise students in workshops when appropriate
Ideal Candidate
* Organised, flexible, and hands-on
* Some experience working in a workshop or technical setting
* Willingness to learn and support new technologies (e.g., 3D printers, laser cutters)
* Practical knowledge of health and safety protocols
* Able to work independently and as part of a team

AAT Grade D Points 5 - 6
