About the Role
Career Teachers are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Sheffield. You will work within the school's Hub, supporting up to 10 pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties (many pupils are non-verbal). This is a full-time position starting in January 2026 and continuing until the end of the academic year.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with varied SEN profiles.
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Use a range of strategies to support pupils with Autism, ADHD, and communication challenges.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and school staff.
Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting plans as needed.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential: Previous experience teaching in an SEN school or specialist provision.
Strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, and non-verbal communication strategies.
Ability to differentiate lessons and use creative approaches to engage learners.
Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills.
Patience, empathy, and resilience.
