Job Summary
Whilst Sport England is a large and vibrant organisation tasked with helping people across England live active lives, you don’t need to be sporty or know the off-side rule. In fact, we are looking for a champion plate-spinner instead - you will have great customer service and organisation skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
We are seeking an individual with business support skills to provide administrative support to colleagues based in our Place Directorate. The role sits in our Place Collaboration and Learning Team and works with colleagues across the Place Directorate who support sport and physical activity at a local level across England.
You’ll have experience of working in an environment where you have assisted a team, successfully administering the day to day operation and providing meeting and event support (some travel will be required).You are a great communicator, able to prioritise your work and thrive in a collaborative environment.

Role Purpose
This is a family leave cover position, expected to last 9-12 months.
In this role you will provide general administrative support to facilitate the smooth running of the Directorate. You will make administrative arrangements for face-to-face and online internal and external meetings, workshops, and other events, ensuring the professional image of Sport England is maintained. You will develop and maintain effective relationships within the Place Collaboration and Learning Team, Place Directorate and across the organisation to maximize delivery of the Place Directorate’s objectives.
Skills & Experience
1.Experience of successfully administering the day-to-day operation of a small team (6-10 people).
2.Experience of assisting in event organisation, either face to face or online (20 – 150 delegates)
3.Good level of organisational and time management skills, demonstrating an ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet tight deadlines.
4.Experience of working in a customer-led environment
5.Intermediate MS Office skills including Word, Powerpoint and Excel
6.Ability to build, develop and maintain collaborative and effective relationships
7.Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt approach for different audiences
8.Ability to solve problems and use understanding of issues to develop an appropriate response
1.Working knowledge of online tools and resources which aide success in interactive meetings for example: Sli.do; Miro Board; Padlet
2.A working knowledge of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
3.Experience of note taking in meetings or events and compiling lists of actions
