Transport Planner Logistics & Distribution Location: Yeadon, Leeds Salary: Up to £36,000 per year Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Schedule: MondayFriday, Day Shift (Office Hours) The Role A leadinglogistics, transport and distribution companyin Leeds is looking for an experienced Transport Planner to coordinate daily fleet operations. This role supports a national distribution network covering warehousing, storage, and 3PL contract logistics. Youll be responsible for planning routes, allocating vehicles and drivers, and ensuring deliveries run efficiently, safely, and on time. This is a key position within a growing operation, offering stability and long-term development. Key Responsibilities Plan and manage daily transport operations for afleet of 40 HGV vehicles Route planning and vehicle scheduling to maximise efficiency and service levels Allocate drivers and vehicles based on load requirements and availability Use TMS (Transport Management Systems)and GPS tracking to monitor vehicle movements Create and issue driver manifests, delivery schedules and transport documentation Track deliveries and provide progress updates to internal teams and customers Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, customer service, hauliers and 3PL partners Conductdriver briefs and debriefs Input and maintain accurate transport data and operational records Identify performance trends and opportunities for continuous improvement Requirements Essential: 23 years experience in a Transport PlannerorTransport Coordinator role Experience planning routes for HGV / LGV fleets Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Confident working in a fast-pacedlogistics or distributionenvironment Live within commuting distance ofYeadon, Leeds Highly Desirable: Experience using MANDATA TMS Salary & Benefits Up to £36,000 per annum MondayFriday working (day shift) 20 days holiday 8 Bank Holidays Company Pension Scheme Ongoing training and career development opportunities About the Employer This is a well-established and growing logistics organisation providingdistribution, warehousing and third-party logistics (3PL)services across the UK.
