Prospero Teaching are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced Tutor to support a bright and dedicated young learner in the Shoreham area. This role involves providing 10 hours per week of tailored tuition in reading, writing, and potentially maths, with a focus on building confidence and reinforcing key skills from the KS1 curriculum from January 2026.
About the Pupil:
Year 6 student working at Key Stage 1 level, currently accessing the Year 1 curriculum
Has an EHCP for Cognition and Learning
Making limited academic progress, but is a dedicated learner
Requires support in reading, writing, and maths, with a focus on building foundational skills
Needs a boost in confidence and self-esteem through consistent, positive engagement
As a Tutor, you will:
Deliver tailored, 1:1 support in core subjects
Foster a nurturing and encouraging learning environment
Help the pupil build confidence and independence
Track progress and adapt strategies to meet individual needs
Work closely with school staff and SEN teams to ensure consistent support
About you:
Experience working with children with SEN and/or EHCPs
Background in education (TA, LSA, Tutor, Teacher, etc.)
Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education
Ability to deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning activitiesPosition - Tutor

Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young peopleTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
