Verus Recruitment is partnering with a leading manufacturing company based in South Yorkshire. Supplying OEMs across industries such as defence, security, construction, quarrying, recycling, and rail, they operate across two facilities in Rotherham with a wide range of in-house capabilities including laser cutting, CNC machining, fabrication, welding, shot blasting, painting, and assembly.
We are seeking a highly skilled
Maintenance Engineer
to join their team. You will play a key role in keeping production running smoothly by ensuring equipment reliability and minimising downtime.
About the Role:
Organising routine servicing / PPM schedules across multiple machines Researching machine operation principles to support repairs Diagnosing and fitting new parts Responding promptly to breakdowns and resolving faults Conducting scheduled checks, overhauls, and part replacements Collaborating with OEM engineers and the H&S department Modifying machinery to meet operational requirements Sourcing parts during breakdowns Independently fault-finding on complex machinery Working at height when required Interpreting and applying schematic drawings in diagnostics About You:
Proven experience in maintenance, repairs, and breakdowns within a metal fabrication / manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of industrial electrics (400v 3-phase) Practical expertise across pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical and electrical systems Skilled problem solver with a hands-on approach to issues on the shop floor Flexible and adaptable, able to meet changing operational needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels Quality-focused mindset with a drive for continuous improvement What's in it for You?
