Murray McIntosh is delighted to partner with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the UK's professional body for management and leadership excellence, to secure their next Head of Policy & Impact.
This pivotal role will lead CMI's policy agenda and strengthen its voice across Whitehall, Westminster and beyond. Reporting to the Director of Policy and External Affairs, you'll shape and deliver CMI's strategic policy plan, drive impactful research and advocacy, and represent the organisation externally to influence public debate and government priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead CMI's policy and impact strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
Build relationships with ministers, parliamentarians, civil servants, and key stakeholders.
Develop and promote evidence-based policy on management, leadership, and skills.
Act as a credible spokesperson and trusted policy voice.
Proactively engage with employers and education providers
Lead pilot projects to demonstrate impact and commerical viability
Lead and develop a high-performing policy team.
Track and respond to national policy and political developments.About You
A strategic and politically astute policy professional with:
Significant experience in policy development, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement.
Excellent written, verbal, and relationship-building skills, with confidence representing CMI publicly.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Agility and adaptability in fast-moving environments.
