Material Controller / Stores & Logistics Coordinator
Location: Coventry | Pay: £14.00 per hour | Permanent

Are you organised, hands-on, and experienced in keeping a busy manufacturing operation running smoothly? Our client, a well-established precision machining company, is looking for a Material Controller / Stores & Logistics Coordinator to join their planning and logistics team. You’ll be at the heart of production, ensuring materials, goods in, and despatch operations are seamless.
What You’ll Do:
* Manage the goods in, stores, and despatch functions to keep production moving.
* Operate mechanical handling equipment, including counterbalance forklifts.
* Run the automatic billet saw to prepare materials for machining.
* Liaise with suppliers, transport partners, and internal teams to coordinate deliveries.
* Ensure all products are packed safely to prevent damage in transit.
* Track material availability and support new sales orders.
* Purchase essential consumables and maintain smooth stock levels.
* Build strong working relationships across departments to support teamwork.
About You:
* Proven experience in material handling, stores, or logistics in manufacturing.
* Familiar with goods in processes and quality control.
* Experience purchasing direct or indirect materials.
* Competent with measuring tools like verniers and micrometers.
* Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Hours & Location:
* Monday–Thursday: 7:30am–4:30pm and Friday: 7:30am–12:30pm
* (Flexible start times available for the right candidate)
* Based in Coventry and commutable from Nuneaton, Bedworth, Hinckley, Rugby, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Kenilworth, Solihull, Birmingham, and surrounding areas.
