TeacherActive is currently recruiting dedicated SEN Tutors to provide personalised, face-to-face tuition for students across the Lincoln area. These flexible tutoring opportunities involve supporting learners in their homes, helping them rebuild confidence and re-engage with education.
This role is ideal for teachers who want to make a meaningful difference by providing tailored academic support outside of a traditional classroom setting.
The Role
As an SEN Tutor, you will deliver one-to-one or small group sessions in English, Maths, and targeted interventions for students working at Key Stage 3 or foundation Key Stage 4 level. Many of the young people you will support have experienced barriers to mainstream education and benefit from a personalised and supportive approach to learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering engaging face-to-face tuition in students’ homes
Adapting lesson plans and materials to suit individual learning needs
Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH needs, anxiety, or barriers to accessing mainstream education
Encouraging positive engagement with learning and building student confidence
Working closely with safeguarding and support teams to ensure each learner receives the right support
Monitoring and reporting on student progress
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) (Preferred but not mandatory)
Have experience supporting students with SEND or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Demonstrate patience, adaptability, and a supportive teaching style
Be confident delivering English and/or Maths at KS3 or foundation KS4 level
Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel to students’ homes

About the Provision
The provision supports young people who are unable to access mainstream education due to SEMH needs, anxiety, EBSA, or additional learning needs. The approach focuses on personalised education programmes that help students gradually re-engage with learning through structured support and tailored academic intervention.
While the contract operates on a 0-hour casual basis, regular work is typically available depending on student referrals.
