We have a rewarding opportunity available for a Female* Children's Safe House Worker to join our children's team based in South Glos. You will join us on a part-time, permanent basis working 22.5 hours per week with some out of hours and weekend work on occasion. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of Point 12 £27,711 per annum (pro rata for part time hours) plus benefits .Established in 1999, Next Link is the leading provider of domestic abuse services to women and children in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.

With a focus on survivors' safety and recovery; we believe the provision of flexible support tailored to survivors' needs can be transforming, helping to maximise independence and self-determination so survivors can make informed choices.In return for joining us as our Female Children and Young People's IDVA, we will offer you the following fantastic benefits:Up to 30 days annual leave (depending on length of service)3 extra holidays including International Women's DayExcellent development and training opportunitiesEmployer pension contribution (minimum 5% of your gross salary)Mindful Employer Plus SchemeCycle to Work SchemeLong Service AwardsStaff Recognition AwardsHealth & Wellbeing programmeFacility to Work from Home once fully trainedAbout the Female Children and Young People's IDVA roleThis post is based within Next Link Domestic abuse services to provide a high-quality service and co-ordinated package of on-going emotional and practical support to CYP who are suffering effects from the trauma of, or have experienced domestic abuse.This post will work within an integrated team within Next Link Domestic abuse services based in South Glos.Key duties and responsibilities of our Female Children and Young People's IDVA:Welcoming women and their children into the refuge and providing them with support to meet their practical and emotional needsTo ensure that a high standard of information, advice and temporary accommodation is provided for women and their children who have suffered mental or physical abuse.To assist with the smooth running of the refuge on a day-to-day basis including ensuring the building is maintained in good order and meets the requirements of health and safety.To work in partnership with support workers, other families in the refuge regarding to meet the needs of children living in the safe houseDevelop individual support plans for each child in the safe house as requiredTo help children begin the healing process of working through their traumatic experiences of domestic abuse and change.To help organise and supervise children's activities during the day and after school as needed. These can be on and off the premises.To report child protection concerns or issues without question and to ensure that child welfare is ensured in accordance with Next Links Safeguarding Policies.This is not an exhaustive list of your duties and outlines the general ways in which it is expected you will meet the overall requirements of this post.What we are looking for in our ideal Female Children and Young People's IDVA:Numeracy and literacy to GCSE level/NVQ 2 or equivalentAbility to assess the support needs of families, specifically children and young people who have experienced or witnessed domestic abuseAbility to proactively organise and develop child centred activity programme that meets the needs of diverse CYPDemonstrable knowledge of child protection issues and a wider understanding of safeguarding relating to vulnerable adults and children, including how and when to report concernsDemonstrable experience of being proactive rather than reactive: focuses on preventing problems in the future rather than just resolving immediate issuesExperience of working in a team setting and demonstrating strong interpersonal communication skillsA current, full driving licence and access to a car is required for this roleHow to apply:Pleasedownload the application pack from our website and complete the short application form.
