Workshop Controller & Quality Controller
Role Overview: We are seeking a proactive Workshop Controller & Quality Controller to lead our workshop operations and ensure every vehicle meets our rigorous safety and quality standards. This is a "hands-on" leadership role where you will be responsible for the entire repair lifecycle—from allocating work to technicians to the final quality sign-off and road test.
Working Hours:
* Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
* Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
* Lunch: 1-hour unpaid lunch break
Workshop Controller & Quality Controller Key Responsibilities:
* Workflow Management: Optimise workshop productivity by allocating jobs based on technician skill sets and ensuring all repairs are completed within agreed timescales.
* Quality Assurance: Perform final multi-point inspections and road tests on all vehicles to ensure "Right First Time" delivery to manufacturer standards.
* Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and motivate a team of technicians and apprentices, maintaining a high-performance culture.
* Process Compliance: Ensure all work is documented accurately and complies with Health & Safety (HSE) and environmental regulations.
* Communication: Act as the primary liaison between the workshop and service advisors to provide real-time updates on vehicle progress and parts requirements.
What We’re Looking For from the Workshop Controller & Quality Controller:
* Experience: Proven experience in a workshop control, supervisory, or senior technician role within a busy automotive environment.
* Technical Excellence: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair; an eye for detail is essential for the QC aspect of this role.
* Leadership Skills: Ability to lead a team under pressure while maintaining a positive workshop environment.
* Licensing: A full, valid UK driving licence is required for vehicle road testing.
* IT Literacy: Confident using workshop management systems i.e. Autoflow and Audatext
Workshop Controller & Quality Controller Salary: Competitive basic salary £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
