About the role
We are seeking an inspiring and compassionate Team Manager to support Unaccompanied Asylum‑Seeking Children and Care Leavers aged 16‑25 years here at Cheshire East. The Team Manager will lead, support and oversee a team of Social Workers, Personal Advisors and Family Support Workers to ensure the young people receive the support, guidance and opportunities they need to achieve positive futures. The role requires clear leadership, expert oversight and a strong safeguarding focus, delivering consistently high quality, strengths‑based practice that empowers young people on their journey to independence.
About you
* Qualified Social Worker with current registration (Social Work England).
* Proven leadership experience in children’s social care.
* Knowledge of legislation, guidance, policy and procedures relating to Care Leavers and Unaccompanied Asylum‑Seeking Children.
* Experience of building strong relationships with a range of children, young people and professionals.
* Excellent communication, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative, manage and prioritise own workload under pressure.

* A full driving licence and access to a car are essential due to Cheshire East’s rural nature.

* A competitive salary: Between £48,072 and £54,994 per annum (CEC NJC – Grade 11) with guaranteed yearly pay increases.
