The team consists of Consultants, Doctors, Nurses and other administration colleagues. This opportunity is unique within the service and will evolve and develop as the team developsWe are looking for a HIV Medicines Coordinator and Administration Support who works well as team and independently. You will be required to coordinate processes in relation to provision of HIV drugs, such as monitoring of stock, monitoring and recording of collection by individual patients, delivery monitoring, and generally support the HIV Pharmacists in ensuring that patients medications are monitoring and coordinated. As part of the role, you will be required to communicate directly with patients and support them in organising collection and provide updates and escalate issues within the HIV team. This is a part-time role, working 30 hours per week. There is the requirement to work across all 4 sites, so having a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.Main ResponsibilitiesTo act as a point of contact for HIV patients requesting medications and act accordingly and as per internal processesThe post holder will ensure that routine information is communicated to the team, department or other stakeholders when relevant.To manage and maintain accurate patient records and documentation in relation to their medication supply and escalate any issuesTo assist with medication administration processes under supervision, ensuring compliance with protocols but also working with the Pharmacist and other colleagues within the HIV service develop and improve the processes for patientsSupport the Pharmacists with inventory managementSchedule appointments and coordinate patient appointmentsRespond to patient medication queries by communication with patients face to face and on telephonePrepare and process any paperwork related to prescription and patient careTake part on the MDT in relation to any prescribing preparation and actionsTo liaise with the dispensing pharmacy to accurately monitor the progress of requested medicationsWork closely with the dispensing pharmacy staff regarding any supply and medication issues and relay these back to the HIV pharmacy team.Ideal CandidateEssentialMinimum 3 GCSE'sPrevious experience in working in a pharmacy environment or in healthcare administration for a minimum of 1 yearDriving License and access to a car for work purposes.Confidence to work independently and intuitively within HIV specialism.Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practicesAble to communicate effectively with patients both verbally and writtenStrong organisational tasks and ability to prioritiseAble to identify barriers to communication and implement solutions to overcome them.Emotional Intelligence.Good generic IT and literacy-based skills.Strong analytical skillsAbility to apply sound professional judgement for legal and ethical issuesTime management and prioritisation skillsExperience and ability to use pharmaceutical software.While not essential, it would be desirable to have a pharmaceutical qualification.About the CompanyWe change lives by transforming health and care.Established in 2006, we are one of the UK's leading independent providers of community health and care services, working with health and care commissioners and communities to transform services with a focus on experience, efficiency and improved outcomes.We deliver and transform adult and children community health services, primary care services including urgent care, sexual health, dermatology and MSK services as well as adult social care and wellbeing services.Across England, we support communities of many millions and directly help more than half a million people each year - guided by our simple values: we care, we think, we do.We're committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from a broad, diverse range of people who want to join our team.We're a Disability Confident Committed company, so we work to provide facilities, work environment adjustments and technical solutions to be as inclusive of everyone.While it doesn't happen often, sometimes a role is very popular, and we'll need to close it earlier than the date we've shown here.
