Youll take ownership from pre-construction through handover, steering Section 278 highways, earthworks, drainage, foundations and utility infrastructure to safe, high-quality, on-programme outcomes.
What youll be doing
Manage daily site operations (pre-con to completion) to programme, quality and H&S standards.
Lead Section 278 works and LA audits/adoption.
Oversee earthworks (cut/fill, compaction & testingCBR, plate load, density).
Control drainage & foundations in line with design/specs.
Coordinate utilities end-to-end (electric, water, gas, telecoms) including SU liaison and capacity for large industrial users.
Review drawings/specs to drive value engineering and constructability.
Manage subcontractors, suppliers, plant and QA documentation (ITPs, RAMS, as-builts).
Track and report progress, costs and quality.
What youll bring
Proven civils site management on large infrastructure/industrial schemes.
Hands-on Section 278 delivery and adoption experience.
Strong understanding of earthworks, drainage and foundations.
Confident with utility interfaces from design through connection.
Skilled in reading drawings, identifying VE opportunities and implementing change.
Clear communicator and leader with strong planning and commercial awareness.
Competent with QA systems and site documentation.
Qualifications
HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred).
CSCS (Managers/Professionals), SMSTS, First Aid at Work.
Full UK driving licence.
Nice to have : Industrial/logistics civils experience, DNO/water authority interface knowledge, Temporary Works Coordinator, exposure to AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
