Team Manager – Family Help Service
Location: Tooting, London | Salary: Up to £62,451 per annum | Job type: Permanent Full‑Time (36 hrs) | Ofsted rating: Outstanding
About the role
You will lead a stable, knowledgeable, and creative team of Social Workers who support children and families through consistent relationships and skillful interventions. Working within systemic practice, you will co‑produce child and family assessments, build family‑led plans under Child in Need and Child Protection frameworks, and support care proceedings. You will collaborate closely with co‑located practitioners from Children’s Services, Adult Mental Health, Substance Misuse, and Domestic Abuse, as well as in‑house family therapy and CAMHS teams.
Responsibilities
* Provide creative leadership and management to the team, ensuring evidence‑based practice and respect for children’s rights.
* Foster a supportive environment with small teams, regular supervision, and a caseload that promotes relationship building.
* Champion exemplary practice, promoting continuous improvement and shared learning.
* Engage multidisciplinary partners to deliver positive outcomes for children and families.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
* Social work qualification with Social Work England membership and successful completion of ASYE.
* Proven leadership and management experience in a comparable role.
* Experience working across voluntary and statutory agencies, with applied knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance.
* Excellent communicator and collaborator, compassionate and attuned to the needs of children and young people.
* A can‑do attitude, creativity, and a passion for supporting children and families with hope and self‑esteem.
