We're looking for a Design Manager to join our Natural Resources team based in Falmer, Brighton, to lead and manage engineering design delivery for assigned water projects on our new 7-year, cGBP1bn framework with Southern Water.

Responsibilities
As a Design Manager, you'll provide expert engineering support to the design and construction of the Southern Water portfolio of non-infrastructure, water, and wastewater projects covering the counties of Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight.
1. Spearheading and optimising the engineering assurance process for designs prepared by partners at outline design and Capital Delivery partners at tender and construction design.
2. Ensuring that the Engineering Design team, design consultants, and construction partners develop technically and economically proficient engineering solutions.
3. Implementing design quality procedures upholding the right-first-time philosophy.
4. Seeking opportunities to enhance affordability and value throughout the design process.
5. Maintaining compliance with Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations and managing design-related health and safety risks.
What are we looking for?
This role of Design Manager is ideal if you have:
* Working towards Chartered Engineer status with a degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
* Experience managing and leading a multi-discipline technical engineering team with a track record of achieving sustainable performance against challenging targets.
* Significant knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and a full driving licence to visit various sites and offices.
