Required Skills and Experience Proven experience in marketing, branding, content creation, and design leadership, ideally within a non-profit or community setting. Strong skills in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and content management tools. Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop clear, engaging messaging across various media. Leadership and volunteer management experience, with the ability to motivate and guide creative teams. Ability to develop and implement strategic marketing plans and brand guidelines. Knowledge of digital marketing platforms, social media strategies, and analytics. Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A passion for promoting inclusivity and supporting LGBTQ+ communities. Flexibility and adaptability to work collaboratively within a volunteer-led organisation.
What will you be doing?
The Head of Marketing & Branding is a vital voluntary leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the Marketing Team volunteers, with a primary focus on developing and executing comprehensive marketing, branding, content creation, and design strategies. This role aims to elevate Salford Pride’s brand presence, promote its mission, and engage diverse audiences through creative and impactful communication channels. The Head of Marketing & Branding works closely with the Committee Lead and ensures all major marketing initiatives receive final approval from the Board of Trustees. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and mentor the Marketing Team volunteers to produce high-quality marketing campaigns, brand materials, and content across multiple platforms. Develop and maintain a consistent, compelling brand identity that reflects Salford Pride’s values and resonates with target audiences. Oversee the creation of diverse content, including graphics, videos, social media posts, website updates, and print materials, ensuring brand consistency and quality. Collaborate with the Committee Lead to establish marketing goals, campaign strategies, and key messaging. Ensure all marketing materials and campaigns receive final sign-off from the Board of Trustees before publication or release. Manage the production and delivery of design assets, working closely with volunteer designers and content creators. Coordinate marketing schedules, content calendars, and campaigns to maximize outreach and engagement. Foster a collaborative and creative environment within the Marketing Team, encouraging innovation and high standards. Work with external partners and sponsors to support brand promotion and campaign funding opportunities. Monitor, analyse, and report on the effectiveness of marketing and branding activities to the Committee Lead and Board of Trustees. Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, ethical, and data protection requirements. Champion inclusivity, diversity, and community engagement within all marketing and branding efforts.
