Citizens Advice Harlow, working together with our regional consortium, Citizens Advice Essex, and other local offices throughout the region, has entered into a partnership with a major utility company (UK Power Network) for funding to support people in fuel poverty – a need that has increased significantly during the new era of rising and unstable domestic energy prices.
Post holders will join a well-established team in Harlow and the subregion, providing reliable and effective quality-assured advice for those vulnerable to fuel poverty, primarily by telephone.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, exhibit excellent listening and questioning skills, and be able to accurately and consistently document enquiries and the advice given.
Citizens Advice Harlow will deliver general and in-depth fuel poverty alleviation and energy advice and information through:
* Interviewing clients over the phone or in person to provide appropriate advice and information regarding:
* Income maximisation
* Energy efficiency advice and behavioural change
* Exploring options such as grants and schemes to improve the fabric and energy efficiency of homes
* Offering in-depth energy advice, including but not limited to Net Zero information and advice, flexibility top-ups, and the benefits of having a smart meter
