Head of Year / Pastoral Manager – Secondary School, Preston

Hours: Monday to Friday, normal school hours
We are seeking a committed and experienced Head of Year / Pastoral Manager to join a supportive secondary school in Preston. This role is ideal for someone passionate about student welfare and behaviour management, with strong leadership and organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the pastoral care and academic progress of a designated year group
* Manage behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding concerns in line with school policies
* Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
* Lead and support tutors within the year group
* Contribute to whole-school initiatives and improvement plans
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a pastoral or leadership role within a school setting
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
