Overview
Health, Safety & Environment Officer role at MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions. NEBOSH-qualified HSE professional to join the team at the Ashby site, supporting the EH&S Manager and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact.
Responsibilities
* Support the EH&S Manager to champion a safe working environment, ensuring that all Health & Safety requirements and procedures are adhered to.
* Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures, and support site initiatives.
* Update the environmental management systems.
* Assist in a regime of safety audits (internal and external), site walks and inspections.
* Attend daily Tier meetings.
* Aid a program of risk assessments for all operational activities, including documentation and training needs.
* Support investigations, record and report on all accidents and near-miss incidents and drive to close out with root cause rigor.
* Provide reports on current safety initiatives, identifying exposures and opportunities, and report on KPIs.
* Plan and provide relevant induction/training courses for employees and contractors.
* Key contributor to contractor management programme.
* Active member in Health & Safety Committee meetings.
* Support occupational hygiene activities, e.g. air and noise monitoring.
* Collect and report data relating to use of waste and packaging (e.g. Producer Responsibility Obligation and Plastics Packaging Tax).
* Liaise with regulatory authorities such as BSI, HSE, Fire Service, Leicestershire County Council on environmental and health & safety issues.
Qualifications
* Experience of supporting the management of health, safety and environmental compliance.
* NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
* Previous experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
* Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practice.
* Experience in carrying out and documenting Safe Working Procedures and risk assessments.
* Experience in environmental management.
* Trained in accident/incident investigation.
* Understanding and experience of COSHH and related regulations.
* High degree of technical proficiency.
