Senior Contracting Solicitor

Our Office of the General Counsel advises on a wide variety of risk issues that arise in delivering professional services across assurance, tax, and advisory areas.

Role Overview
We seek an experienced commercial contracts lawyer for our in-house legal team. Responsibilities include:
* Negotiating contracts with clients, including MSAs and public-sector frameworks, and advising on contracts with sub-contractors, suppliers, etc.
* Improving standard terms based on negotiations and issues encountered.
* Handling various contracting issues: local-country adoption contracts, agreements with Grant Thornton International member-firms, data-sharing, secondment, software supply contracts, interpreting contractual provisions, and advising on risk and compliance matters.
* Advising on collaboration, referral, and introduction agreements.
* Collaborating with the Office of the General Counsel and risk team to advise staff and protect the firm.
* Supporting less experienced lawyers and identifying development opportunities.
* Monitoring risk trends and updating templates and procedures.
* Educating colleagues on legal and risk issues through training and guidance materials.
Candidate Requirements
The minimum criteria are:
* Qualified solicitor or barrister with experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
* Good knowledge of professional liability law.
* Understanding of professional services contracting and risk management.
* Pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
* Self-motivated with good multitasking skills.
* Excellent communication skills, including drafting contractual terms.
* Experience managing and developing colleagues.
