*Internal Applicants Only* Resurgo operates the Spear Programme in partnership with local churches. This role will focus on developing strategy for national growth and building lasting relationships with potential church partners who have an interest in running the Spear programme. Alongside this, this role will initially provide coaching support for northern centres for 2-3 days per week, travelling to centres to cover absences and develop coaches with a focus on coaching quality and increasing the sustainability of the programme. The aim is to shift the focus over time, as and when we can hire further Development Coach support in the region though there is some flexibility in this regard depending on the successful candidate. Church Partnership Development (approx. 2.5 days per week) Early-stage Church Partnership Development Build and develop relationships with potential partner churches with the aim of helping them to progress up the pipeline Work closely with the wider team to innovate new ways of working and test the effectiveness of different approaches to partnership development Draw on your own networks and those across the wider Resurgo team to further our national growth strategy Work with the Church Partnership Development Managers to help to build an increasingly diverse range of partners, including churches outside of the HTB network Partnership Development Strategy for National Growth Work closely with the Head of Church Partnerships Development to develop and test the strategy for growth in the north Ensure effective delivery of strategy, with a focus on growing our work in unserved and developing regions of the north of England and building a diverse range of church partners Use Salesforce to track and review our activity, to help the team determine our longer-term strategy for growth Input into the design and running of the Northern Spear Conference and any other relevant future events, as part of our engagement strategy for existing and potential church partners Church Partner Leadership Training, and Wider Coaching and Training On an ad hoc basis, deliver culture coaching with churches, using an evidence-based approach to evaluate its effectiveness in drawing churches into the Spear growth pipeline As part of Resurgo’s senior coaching team, coach on Resurgo internal and external programmes on request (up to 5 days per quarter) including Coaching for Leadership and Line Manager training Internal & External Communication Build and execute a strategy for communicating with new church partners i.e. newsletter, online portal Envision the wider Resurgo team for our national growth strategy and when relevant, develop an internal comms plan for getting team actively involved (introductions to churches, utilising networks etc) Support coaching on the Spear programme (approx 2.5 days per week) Delivery of Spear Programme As a coach you will support Spear centres in the north of England (with occasional travel beyond) by preparing and coaching Spear Foundation group sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme Quickly building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture and attitudes in the training room Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively Spear Centre Support You will form part of a central support team that enables Spear Centres to deliver high quality, high impact sessions to young people when one of their team is sick or the centre is short-staffed, or to support the development of individuals. You will observe and give feedback to other coaches, using a coaching approach to develop their skills, confidence and presence, with the goal of maximising the quality and outcomes of the Spear programme and ensuring all coaches have access to excellent training and support. You will be placed where the support is needed most, working peripatetically across centres. This could look like blocks of several weeks or months based in one centre, or ad hoc days or weeks spread between different centres. Trainee Recruitment Supporting Spear Centres to ensure that the maximum number of Spear Trainees are enrolled on each programme, through active face-to-face recruitment and working with teams to consider a strategic and targeted approach to reaching those young people who would most benefit from the Spear programme. Active participation in Resurgo’s team and support for Resurgo’s mission Help build and develop Resurgo’s ethos and Christian life including leading and contributing to daily collective and personal prayer meetings which are an integral part of Resurgo’s operation. Person Specification A practising Christian who is passionate about personally representing the Christian values of Resurgo and committed to Resurgo’s mission to transforming society Strong leadership ability with the confidence to make effective decisions; flexibility to pivot and change direction when needed and to bring partners and team on the journey Outstanding people skills and emotional intelligence, capable of quickly winning trust and confidence, as well as network, influence and negotiate with church leaders and a range of audiences, internally and externally. Minimum of 5 years experience of line management, coaching and holding responsibility for others’ professional development and wellbeing An understanding of the needs and workings of churches and their leaders, and the ability to innovate, build our growth strategy and generate new partnerships. An excellent communicator (both written and verbal) who demonstrates strong leadership capabilities Excellent initiative and a self-starter, with the ability to operate flexibly in a changing and dynamic environment and in response to the support needs of each partner. Strong organisational skills including the ability to establish appropriate processes and structures and to manage multiple priorities to meet targets and deadlines Strong quantitative skills including ability to work with and interpret impact data, fundraising pipelines and basic financial information Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint competent and experience of/ability to use databases
