About Barnet Council
Barnet is a borough with much to be proud of. Our excellent schools, vibrant town centers, vast green spaces and diverse communities all help make it a great place to live and work. As a council we want to build on these strengths as we move into the future. We are growing and developing as an organisation to meet the challenges facing our borough and we are committed to working with partner organisations and residents to make Barnet even better. As an organisation, our staff are committed to Our Values: Learning to Improve, Caring, Inclusive, Collaborative - which drive everything we do.

About the role
An exciting career opportunity has arisen for an energetic clinician to join Barnet's Integrated Clinical Services (BICS) Children's Social Care team - a targeted mental health service for children, young people and families based within the Local Authority's social care team working with moderate mental health difficulties.

You will work within the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) team offering community-based mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and families. This pioneering service is designed to place children and young people (CYP) affected by domestic abuse at the heart of our response, with a clear vision to reduce long-term emotional harm and build resilience through early, trauma-informed interventions.

We are a strong, supportive, friendly, multidisciplinary department and pride ourselves on our creative and thoughtful work with children and their families. The range of modalities in the team is a real strength. There is scope for joint working to learn from one another and we consider how best the team's skills can be used to the benefit of children and their families.

Barnet is one of the most diverse boroughs in London which provides opportunities and challenges that are rewarding, both professionally and personally. We are focused on making Barnet an even better place to live for all families; we call this ambition "Family Friendly Barnet". At the heart of this vision is our aim of helping families, children and young people to become resilient so they can thrive and achieve, a goal that is reflected in our therapeutic approach.
