We're looking for an Infrastructure Delivery Manager to lead the planning and delivery of key water supply projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. You'll oversee a portfolio of critical infrastructure works, working with engineers, contractors, and regulators to meet both company goals and industry standards.
1. Full accountability for delivering the capital infrastructure portfolio, for example mains renewals and demand reduction enhancements, to the quality and standards required.
2. Create a professionally developing community of project delivery and technical expertise to increase organisational maturity, competence, and capability as a centre of technical excellence for capital programme delivery.
3. Rigorously challenge proposals to ensure capital programme delivery solutions maximise value whilst achieving business outcomes.
4. Lead the full lifecycle of water infrastructure projects, including planning, design, construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and sustainability standards.
5. Provide regular project status updates to senior management and stakeholders, detailing project progress, risks, and key performance metrics.
6. Develop, manage, and track project budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts, ensuring projects are delivered within approved financial and time constraints.
7. Engage and collaborate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, environmental, legal) and external stakeholders (contractors, suppliers, local authorities, regulators) to meet project objectives.
8. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with infrastructure projects, with contingency plans for unforeseen challenges.
9. Oversee procurement processes and manage contracts with third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring all terms and deliverables are met.
10. Ensure legislative compliance related to construction design management regulations and GDPR requirements.
11. Operate in accordance with industry best practices, ensuring activity aligns with relevant quality standards and legislative requirements, prioritising safety and wellbeing.
Experience and Qualifications
* Experience leading the delivery of substantial and complex capital programmes within infrastructure.
* Expert understanding of capital delivery processes and infrastructure planning.
* Proven experience developing and implementing capital delivery governance and gateway processes.
* Commercial acumen to meet future business investment needs.
* Leadership experience in managing diverse stakeholder teams.
* Ability to present complex technical information to all organisational levels.
* Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Programme/project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM).
* Experience in financial forecasting, budget formulation, and cost control.
* Knowledge of asset management systems and digital engineering developments.
* Engineering or relevant degree and chartered membership of a professional institution (e.g., APM).
* Extensive knowledge of APM standards and principles.
