Axcis Education is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants for an Alternative Provision in Plymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students who require additional assistance due to their challenging behaviour and help them succeed in their education. Position: Teaching Assistant Contract Type: Full-Time Location: Plymouth Duration: Long term/Permanent Salary: £85-£95 per day Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviour, helping them to engage with their learning and manage their emotions effectively. • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and implementing behaviour management strategies tailored to the individual needs of students. • Foster positive relationships with students, building trust and rapport to encourage their participation and academic progress. • Assist with the planning and preparation of resources to support the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons. • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to provide holistic support to students, addressing their social, emotional, and academic needs. Requirements: • Experience working with students with challenging behaviour • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques, with the ability to implement them effectively to support positive behaviour. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and external stakeholders. • Resilience and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, maintaining a supportive and nurturing approach. • Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management and working with students with special educational needs (SEN) would be advantageous.
