The Role
We are seeking an experienced
ESRI GIS Subject Matter Expert (SME)
to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of a scalable GIS platform that supports strategic spatial energy planning. The platform will enable environmental impact assessments, economic modelling, and the integration of community preferences.
The SME will be responsible for consolidating and migrating diverse spatial datasets into a unified system, ensuring data accuracy, quality, and accessibility, while supporting secure, role-based access, automation, and interoperability with internal and external systems.
Your Responsibilities
Platform Design & Implementation
Architect and deploy a scalable ESRI-based GIS platform (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, etc.).
Define system architecture, data flows, and integration points with enterprise systems.
Lead the migration and consolidation of spatial datasets from legacy systems.
Spatial Analysis & Planning
Develop spatial models for energy planning, environmental impact assessments, and economic forecasting.
Integrate community feedback and preferences into spatial decision-making tools.
Create interactive dashboards and maps for stakeholder engagement.
Data Management & Quality Assurance
Establish data governance protocols for spatial data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Implement ETL workflows using ArcGIS Data Interoperability tools or third-party solutions.
Manage metadata standards and spatial data cataloging.
Security & Access Control
Configure role-based access controls and user permissions.
Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards.
Implement secure data sharing protocols with external stakeholders.
Automation & Interoperability
Develop automated workflows for data ingestion, processing, and reporting.
Integrate GIS with enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP, Power BI, AutoDesk, etc.).
Utilize APIs and SDKs for custom tool development and system interoperability.
Your Profile
Essential Skills/Knowledge/Experience
8+ years of experience in GIS with deep expertise in ESRI technologies.
Proven experience in deploying ArcGIS Enterprise and managing spatial data infrastructures.
Strong knowledge of spatial analysis, environmental modelling, and energy planning.
Proficiency in Python, ModelBuilder, and ArcPy for automation.
Experience with data migration, ETL tools, and system integration.
Familiarity with cloud-based GIS deployments and hybrid architectures.
Desirable Skills/Knowledge/Experience
Experience with community engagement tools and participatory GIS.
Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
