As a Finance Manager (Capital Projects), you will be managing a project accounting team of 6-8 Investment Accountants. You will support the team to provide comprehensive financial support, drive financial performance, and maximise regulatory returns of the National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) investment portfolio across the business.
This role is based out of our Warwick office. We expect you to be in the office at least two days per week, but you are welcome to be in more often if that suits you. We are happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements to help make this job work for you!
What You'll Do:
* You will be the main contact for the Portfolio Management Teams, ensuring project portfolio forecasts are thorough, comprehensive, and consider risks accurately, aligning with the programme.
* You will provide accurate reporting of project actuals, forecasts, and budgets, undertake trend and variance analysis, and critically evaluate data to improve project performance.
* Managing a project accounting team of 6-8 Investment Accountants, you'll support them in providing financial support, driving performance, and maximising regulatory returns of the ET investment portfolio.
* You will lead monthly accounting cycles, manage stakeholder meetings and deliverables, and provide insights into performance to partner with the business in driving value and change.
* Supporting Senior Projects Managers and Project Directors, you'll help them understand and interpret their portfolios, regulatory outcomes, and financial performance.
* Leading the implementation of standardised UK Business performance processes, forecasts, and reports, ensuring they are fit for purpose.
* As a trusted partner, you'll utilise your financial expertise and project knowledge to support the wider business. Continuous improvement and process development are key in our evolving environment.
What You'll Have:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with post-qualification experience.
* Significant experience in financial reporting, planning, forecasting, and budgeting across various projects.
* Experience managing diverse stakeholders and working across multiple teams to achieve objectives and support commercial decisions.
* Comfortable leading and working within virtual teams and willing to travel to sites occasionally.
* Strong skills in MS Excel and SAP are essential.
* Good understanding of core financial processes.
* Proactive, able to manage workload efficiently, and committed to high-quality work.
* Pragmatic, adaptable to change, and skilled at applying different approaches for different customer groups.
* Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and collaboration skills.
* Results-oriented mindset.

What You'll Get:
Up to £67,000 depending on experience.
