The Post:
We are looking for three Donor Carer Venepuncturists to join our existing teams to provide a high standard of care to our donors. The role involves set up of community donation sessions with a requirement to pull/push cages or trolleys of equipment without mechanical aid of up to 60kg – 2 people. Full training is provided in all aspects of the role.
The positions are based at the Donor Services Blood Collection Team in Glasgow; however, extensive travel throughout the West of Scotland region is required. You must be flexible, and willing to work variable hours which will include public holidays, Sundays and regular late evenings.
The Candidate:
You should be friendly, enjoy meeting people and be willing to work as part of a team. You’ll enjoy a varied role which includes caring for donors throughout the blood donation process from reception and welcome, health screening, obtaining blood samples, blood collection and donor safety and wellbeing.
Knowledge of health care or other customer focused environments is essential. Standard keyboard skills are essential as are good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
