Overview
The post holder will be responsible for the effective delivery of Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre services within the Trust, ensuring that services are delivered within the clinical governance framework to continually improve and provide high-quality patient care for RPH RSSC pathways. The role involves developing strong working relationships across organisational boundaries with senior clinical teams and key operational staff, including potential external partners in the regional network, to deliver national and local strategic and operational service objectives and standards.
The post holder will work closely with the Operations Managers and Divisional Operations Director to operationally manage the service, plan and audit service developments, and contribute to business plans aligned with the trust strategy.
Key responsibilities include planning, service planning, project management, and the production of business cases, ensuring systems are in place to monitor and measure divisional and specialty performance, and ensuring resources are utilised efficiently. The Service Manager will provide regular updates on performance and escalate issues that hinder the delivery of a smooth patient pathway to the Divisional Triumvirate. Working with clinical and medical leads, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of a range of operational and quality standards. An excellent knowledge of the 18-week referral-to-treat pathway is essential. You will be actively involved in developing care pathways to improve the quality of services for patients.
Responsibilities
* Operational management of the Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre services within the Trust.
* Develop and implement service plans, conduct audits, and contribute to business planning aligned with the trust strategy.
* Lead planning, project management, and business case production to monitor divisional and specialty performance.
* Ensure efficient use of resources and provide regular performance updates to the Divisional Triumvirate.
* Collaborate with clinical and medical leads to meet operational and quality standards.
* Apply strong knowledge of the 18-week referral-to-treat pathway to improve care pathways.
* Develop and enhance care pathways to improve service quality for patients.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in management/leadership with attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
* Operational experience in an NHS environment.
* Resilience and flexibility to changing priorities; ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Excellent prioritisation, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative approach.
