Location: Hybrid, with offices across Devon and Somerset
Salary: £29,000 - £32,500 per annum
We are seeking a Learning & Development Officer to join a highly respected professional services firm on a 12-month maternity cover contract (February 2026 February 2027, with potential extension). This is an exciting opportunity to work for an award-winning, people-focused organisation recognised for its investment in employee development and wellbeing.
The Role
Reporting into the People Director and working closely with two other People Officers, youll play a key part in supporting learning and development across the firm. Youll be involved in delivering engaging training, coordinating firmwide events, championing wellbeing initiatives, and supporting recruitment and onboarding processes.
This position can be based from several office locations across Devon and Somerset, with a hybrid working arrangement. Some travel between officesparticularly Exeter and Plymouthwill be required.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate onboarding plans and induction sessions for new starters
Design and deliver engaging face-to-face and online training sessions
Support Partners and Directors with training design and delivery
Manage training administration and CPD processes
Oversee relationships with external training providers
Organise and deliver firmwide events, such as the Annual Whole Firm Day and wellbeing initiatives
Coordinate Training Tuesday and Wellbeing Wednesday programmes
Support mental health and work experience initiatives
Assist with recruitment and career events when needed
About You
Previous experience in learning & development or training
Skilled in designing and delivering engaging training content
Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills
Experience in event coordination
Confident using Microsoft Office (Canva experience advantageous)
Coaching or training qualification desirable but not essential
Passionate about learning, wellbeing, and enhancing the employee experience
Adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively
Recruitment experience would be a bonus
