Site Security Officer Birmingham, West Midlands

We are part of the Heimerle Meule Group, one of Europe’s largest refiners and processors of precious metals. Based in the heart of the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, we are a friendly, well‑established but growing business of 280 employees, with almost 60% of employees having worked at Cooksongold for over five years.
Responsibilities
* Controlling movements on and off‑site using access control.
* Front‑of‑house responsibilities, including greeting visitors and employees.
* Issuing badges and clock cards.
* Searching all employees and visitors on exit using airport‑style security systems.
* Dealing with incoming telephone calls and redirecting as appropriate.
* Providing first aid support across the site.
* Providing flexibility and additional cover as required, for example using the company van to make collections and deliveries.
* Unlocking and locking up the site and performing patrol procedures.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in front‑of‑house security.
* Professional, highly motivated, well‑presented, enthusiastic and hard‑working.
* Qualifications in providing security services are desirable.
* The ability to operate IT‑based systems and compile logs and reports.
* A first aid training qualification or willing to qualify if recruited.
* Skilled and confident communicator with strong customer service skills.
* Demonstrable strong health and safety awareness.
* A full, valid driving licence.
Hours and Salary
Total of 37.5 hours per week, plus overtime and call‑out cover when required.
Hours of work: flexible shift patterns of 6am–2pm and 2pm–8pm on a rota basis, with occasional work at weekends and bank holidays. The successful candidate must be able to reach the site for a 6am start, as we are based within the Birmingham Clean Air zone.
Starting salary of £25,000, increasing to £26,000 after successful completion of probation.
