Overview
We are seeking to appoint one dynamic registered nurse to the Specialist Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS). This full‑time position supports flexible working and requires travel across sites within Sussex to deliver specialist nursing care to families and young people aged 10‑18 with eating disorders.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist nursing care in line with NICE Guidelines and national standards.
* Hold and manage a clinical caseload, planning and prioritising workload and overseeing assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.
* Act as Lead Practitioner: manage risk, review treatment efficacy, and escalated issues (mental and physical health).
* Work in duty and triage, oversee physical health clinics and chair/organise team meetings.
* Supervise and mentor junior nurses, nursing students and other staff, offering clinical supervision and professional development.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care plans, coordinate care and support transitions between care levels.
Qualifications & Experience
* Diploma or degree in nursing and current registration with the NMC.
* Minimum of 2 years post‑qualification experience.
* Experience working with young people with eating disorders is preferred.
* Experience within a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience supervising staff is preferred.
* Evidence of CPD and working with people with serious mental health problems.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience in community settings.
* Competence in therapeutic working with service users and families.
* Ability to design and deliver packages of care.
* Knowledge of eating disorders and alignment with the Trust’s values.
* Availability to travel across sites.

* Flexible working arrangements are available.
* Position falls at the bottom of the pay scale unless relevant prior NHS experience can be demonstrated.
