We are seeking a Locum Consultant Dermatologist with a Diploma in Dermatology or equivalent to assist with triage of dermatology referrals.
Position Details
National Locums is hiring Consultant Dermatologists and SPR/Associate Specialists for roles involving:
1. Minor operations
2. Biologics
3. Two-week wait (2ww) clinics
Pay rates range from £800 to £2500 per day. Most work is private clinic-led, paid via limited company, umbrella, or self-employment. The contract duration is from 3 months up to 1 year.
Responsibilities
* Manage general dermatology patients referred by GPs, including investigations, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
* Refer patients back to their GP with management advice when appropriate.
* Refer patients for specialist opinions (Senior Consultant Dermatologist, Plastic Surgeon, or Dermatology Specialist Nurse) when necessary.
* Collaborate with dermatology nurse specialists in patient reviews and case discussions.
* Perform diagnostic biopsies, cryotherapy, curettage, and cautery procedures.
* Work with nursing support during clinics.
Qualifications and Support
The successful candidate will hold a Diploma in Dermatology or equivalent and will be supported by nursing staff during clinics.
