JobSummary:
To financiallyassess adults for social care services for both Residential andCommunity Care in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and Councilpolicy and to provide financial support to vulnerable adults andtheir carers.
To maximise theincome of service users and the Council by providing advice andassistance on appropriate WelfareBenefits.
To provide aneffective customerfocused support service to users of the FinancialAssessment service systems andprocesses.
A point ofcontact for colleagues and service users forqueries.
To ensure anintegrated approach to Financial Assessments by assisting with theimplementation of new technologies methodologies and processes thatmeet the needs of service users customers and clientorganisation.
To workalongside Social Care colleagues and vulnerable service users wheresignificant emphasis is placed on providing expert advice in apressuredenvironment.
To identify andinvestigate potential safeguarding issues that can be conducted indifficult circumstances andenvironments.
KeyDuties/Accountabilities:
Responsible forthe prompt and accurate production of client financial assessmentsand reassessments for Adult Social Care service users ensuring thatfinancial regulations and statutory obligations are met throughhome visits postal and emailcorrespondence.
This includeswhere appropriate identifying and recording Service UsersDisability Related Expenditure and seeking advice about suchexpenditure from Adult Social Care Team Managers and investigatingproperty issues wherenecessary.
To maximise theservice users and Councils income through advice and assistanceidentifying customer benefits and assisting the service user withthese claims.
Investigaterespond to and resolve service requests and queries ensuringoperational service priorities are met through ownership adheringto agreed service standards legislation and guidance and accordingto operationalprocedures.
Escalate anycomplaints and potential safeguarding issues in accordance with therelevantprocedures.
Takeresponsibility and ownership on areas of the service whereimprovements could bemade.
Recognising andadapting to the changing needs of the service by makingrecommendations and implementing agreed changes to improveefficiency and the serviceprovided.
To deal withall incoming queries relating to financial assessments and invoicesin line with SBCtimescales.
To obtain andverify financial information from clients and/or their legalbusiness or personal representatives and carry out a financialassessment of clients receiving chargeable care servicesidentifying any gaps in information and making additional inquiriesas necessary to ensure maximum accuracy of theassessment.
To informclients of their assessed contributions the invoicing procedure andpayment methods available tothem.
To deal withqueries arising from the assessments andinvoices.
EssentialExperienceRequired:
Experience indealing with thepublic.
Experience inconducting financial assessments gathering relevant information andquerying evidence provided so that the right outcome isachieved.
EssentialQualificationsRequired:
Educated toGCSE level NVQ Level 3 or experience gained in a similar or relatedworkenvironment.
Experience ofworking under pressure in a busyenvironment.
Experience inutilising inputting and interrogating records into corporate ICTapplications and systems.
