We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer – Course Leader – Health and Social to join the team. In this role, you will undertake specific course leadership for FE Health and Social Care programmes and teaching a variety of units across the curriculum. The postholder will be accountable for the overall quality, coherence, and performance of the programme, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality education that promotes academic excellence, student engagement, retention, and positive progression outcomes.

About the role
* Design schemes of work, assess, prepare, deliver, mark, lead on student guidance and selection procedure, provide individual student tutoring and marking/promoting courses, attend open events.
* Carry out course leadership elements as associated with Band 2 Lecturer role, including pastoral, administrative and curriculum development responsibilities as part of the areas, Health & Social Care, Science and ESOL core team.
* Work with area head, assistant area head and other course leaders to manage quality provision throughout the different programme delivery teams.
* Maintain quality of provision by participating in ongoing internal verification procedures and processes and ensuring appropriate requirements for external verification, communicating outcomes to senior colleagues as required.
* Design, develop, and review curriculum materials in line with programme specifications and quality assurance frameworks.
Essential Experience
* Experience of leading courses and/or curriculum development.
* Effective and consistent high quality teaching experience within Further and/or Higher Education and able to teach across a range of courses.
* Experience working with learners with a wide range of needs.
Essential Qualifications
* Education to degree level or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent.
* Level 5 teaching qualification or completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course.
